Supermarkets and retail

A supermarket has dozens of refrigeration units and nobody can watch them all. Friolink measures them independently of the controller, so a failure or an attack doesn't go unnoticed.

What usually goes wrong

  • Internet-exposed controllers, as in the October 2026 attack in Europe
  • Defrost cycles that run long without anyone noticing
  • Product lost in a single night
  • Many branches, each with its own standards

How Friolink helps

  • Independent measurementOur own sensors, independent of the controller and its configuration.
  • Defrost and restock toleranceThe rules know when a temperature rise is normal and when it isn't.
  • Kiosk per branchA TV in the back room showing every unit in the store.
  • Chain-wide viewCompare branches and units to plan maintenance.

Applicable regulations

  • Uruguay

    Decreto 315/994

National Food Code: refrigerated food below 7 °C and frozen food at −18 °C or colder.

  • European Union

    Regulation (EC) 37/2005

Temperature monitoring of quick-frozen foods with instruments compliant with EN 12830 and records kept for at least one year.

Friolink produces the records and alerts these regulations require. Compliance also depends on each company's processes and validation.
